Who is a cyber citizen?
A cyber citizen is a person who is part of a community on the Internet.
How can you be a good cyber citizen?
I can be a good cyber citizen by following the good rules of my cyber community. That means not talking to strangers and playing nice with my friends
What is a cyber community?
A cyber community is where I go on the Internet. Some places are like the playground and have games, some are like school where I learn, and I only go to places I know in my cyber community.
What is cyber space
The Internet is cyber space. It is everywhere inside the computer and it includes my cyber community.
How do you get around cyber space?
I explore cyber space with a mouse (the thing in your hand moving the arrow on the computer screen). When I click the mouse on certain areas on a website it takes me to a new place in cyber space.
What do you do if you get lost in cyber space?
When I am lost in cyber space I find a trusted adult near my computer to help me.
Who can you go to if you are in a bad area in cyber space?
When I am in a bad area in cyber space I go to the nearest trusted adult. It may be my parents or guardian; it may be a librarian or a teacher. I always make sure I tell a trusted adult when I find a bad area in cyber space.
What is e-mail?
E-mail is mail you receive in your computer.
What e-mail is good?
Good e-mail comes from my friends and my family.
What e-mail is bad?
Bad e-mail comes from people I do not know. If I get an e-mail from a stranger I always tell a trusted adult.
What should you not tell others in cyber space?
I never tell people my name, phone number, e-mail address, or home address. And I never send anyone a picture of me.
Should you ever meet someone you first met on the Internet?
No. I never e-mail or chat with people in my cyber community that I have not met in my regular community. If a stranger tries to chat with me or asks to meet me in person I always tell a trusted adult immediately. I know that people on the Internet may not really be who they say they are away from the computer.
